Getting Started

ok so we are finally getting started on our homeschooling journey, I know, I know.  We were so busy with a vacation in September and then my Son's birthday party prep and Halloween that I just did not have the time to start a new venture.  However, I am totally committed to trying this homeschooling adventure.

At any rate we are starting out with a pumpkin theme to work ourselves out of Halloween and into Thanksgiving.  This week we are working on the color Orange, pumpkins, and the letter P p.  So far we are having tons of fun but things are not going according to planned (I will get more into that in the next post when I post some pics).  Next week we will be doing Leaves, the colors orange and red, and the letter Ll.

I am basically flying by the seat of my pants here and hoping it things go well.  I plan on posting both success and failures because as I search the web I see lots of great ideas but I have seen few failures and I think that is important.  So stick around we are going to have a great adventure.

Homeschooling!

I am really excited to start this blog.  My daughter will be 3 in a few short weeks (goodness where did the time go) and I think it is time to start some more structured learning for her.  She is just starting get things like counting and colors.  So I am searching the internet for free preschool learning ideas and have found two that I think will be very helpful in getting myself organized to start this wonderful journey.  This one I have been looking at for over a year and I really like the way it gives you ideas of things to do Tot School and I just found this blog tonight but she has tons of free printables confessions of a homeschooler.  So this is going to be my introduction to homeschooling and I pray it is something I find enjoyable.  I hope I can include my son in some fun stuff too.  I think it is a good idea to start him earlier since his sister will be learning he can just tag a long.  So I would like to get 1 months curriculum together and than start out.  Probable sometime in June as we have a vacation planned at the end of May and I will be busy planning my daughters birthday on the 15th before that.
